  • For one night only, the scenes at the Ranny Williams Entertainment Centre at 36 Hope Road in St Andrew were transformed into a scene reminiscent of Treasure Beach in St Elizabeth. From the collection of farmers selling their produce in a mini market, to the booths which showcased some of the best Jamaica has to offer with regards to culinary experiences, everything was in place for the 2025 staging of the Treasure Beach Food, Rum and Reggae Benefit Festival.
  • Paul Thomas Anderson’s One Battle After Another scored a leading nine nominations to the 83rd Golden Globe Awards on Monday, adding to the Oscar favourite’s momentum and handing Warner Bros. a victory amid Netflix’s acquisition deal. In nominations announced from Beverly Hills, California, One Battle After Another landed nods for its cast — Leonardo DiCaprio, Teyana Taylor, Sean Penn and Chase Infiniti — and for Anderson’s screenplay and direction. It’s also competing in the Globes’ category for comedy and musicals.
  • NEW YORK (AP): A memoir by Eric Dane, the Grey’s Anatomy and Euphoria actor who has been diagnosed with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, will be published next year. Dane’s Book of Days: A Memoir in Moments will be released by Maria Shriver’s The Open Field, a Penguin Random House imprint. According to Open Field, Dane will look back upon key moments in his life, from his first day at work on Grey’s Anatomy to the births of his two daughters and learning that he has ALS.
  • There has been an extra outpouring of love and prayers for Miss Universe Jamaica, Dr Gabrielle Henry, since the Miss Universe Organisation revealed via an Instagram post on Monday morning, the full extent of her injuries, following a fall through a hole in the stage in Thailand, where the finals were held last month.
  • The official funeral service for late reggae singer, Jimmy Cliff, will take place next week Wednesday, December 17, at the National Indoor Sports Centre beginning at 10 a.m. Minister of Culture, Gender, Entertainment and Sport, Olivia Grange, made the announcement today. Jimmy Cliff passed away on November 24, at the age of 81. Grange said that Cliff is being accorded an official funeral by the Government “for his immense contribution to Jamaican Culture and Entertainment".
